FINAL 3.JPG

Married in 2013, Jessica and David began their journey to a family, knowing it would be a struggle. They embarked upon years of fertility treatments and adoption attempts, favoring neither option more than the other. Just desiring to be parents any way God would allow, they began to document their journey to parenthood for all of the world to follow along! After two surrogacy attempts and a failed adoption, they have four angel babies (two sets of twins)! In July of 2015, they received the call of their lives, and in 3 short weeks, their son Jude was born! He has the brightest smile and most contagious laugh! He was an only child for 2 years and 4 days, until his sister joined the family with the whirlwind that we now recognize was par for her course! After a few years of prayer, they began the surrogacy journey for their last remaining two embryos! With split attempts and a 13% chance of success, they miscarried their second to last embryo. With five babies dancing at the feet of Jesus, they had just one more attempt to grow their family biologically! Jessica's childhood best friend from the 3rd Grade stepped up and offered to carry the embryo, was the perfect candidate, and in June of 2022 their son Lowndes was born! His fire engine red hair is a testament to his attitude, and he's the perfect bookend for the Gilmer family- for now! ;) Jude is now 10, Keller Winn is 8, and Lowndes is 3!

Jessica and David began and proudly own a business together- Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants. MSAC is a nationwide adoption consultant company that partners with adoptive parents all across the country who are hoping to grow their families through adoption! Claiming that it's a ministry first, and a business second, the Gilmers have seen God's favor on that business and are venturing into another new business soon! Outside of writing, Jessica is busy homeschooling, tending to their chickens, working in her flower farm where she grows flowers for local brides, and shopping at thrift stores and children's seasonal consignment events! David is in the Army and works for the Weapons of Mass Destruction. While that is a very serious job that takes a lot of dedication and allegiance, he is an amazing father and husband! He is a Private Pilot, an incredible wakeboarder, enjoys woodworking, farming, homesteading, and closing the gap on their family's ability to be entirely self-sustainable on their farm!
